A Harry Potter Version of Pokémon Go Is On The Way

Last year, Pokémon Go was released and it divided the nation. Those who played the game got the opportunity to see the world through an augmented, digital reality – to imagine what it felt like to be Ash meeting Professor Oak for the first time, and live out their childhood fantasies of owning Charizards and Gengars. But, to everyone else the players were just a bunch of virgins.

Now, the next game of its ilk could be set in the Harry Potter universe. Titled Harry Potter: Wizards Unite the game will use the same augmented reality gameplay used in Pokémon Go.

According to TechCrunch reports the game is set to launch in 2018, co-developed by Warner Bros. Interactive and its new sub brand Portkey Games. The announcement was made after the rumours of the game release earlier this year, although it is now officially confirmed to be happening.

In 2016, the Pokémon Go craze was one of the biggest events, so the developers will likely be hoping to emulate the apps success in one of the most popular fantasy universes of all time.

Harry Potter is a book and film series people associate with children, it also deals with some complex issues and topics. Scroll down through Tumblr, Reddit and Twitter and find number of fan theories about Harry’s parents dying and Snape’s love for Lilly Potter.

In fact someone has even released an unofficial Disney version of ‘Cards Against Humanity’ – combining childhood nostalgia with twisted shit you probably never wanted to think about.

You can now order the ‘Cards Against Muggles’ game, which packs tons of tasteless (unofficial) Harry Potter references with the makers describing it as ‘strictly for Potterheads over 18’.

Available only as a download, It contains over 1,200 cards (350 black cards and 850 white cards), with suggestions such as ‘I found a ton of in the restricted section’ and ‘ is how I got stains on the invisibility cloak’.

The manufacturer describes the games as: “A must for all Harry Potter and/or Cards Against Humanity fans. Its guaranteed to bring hours of laughs! You don’t want to miss out on owning this game if you are a fan!”

There are over 150 pages in total, with 9 cards per page and the manufacturers suggest that anybody who wants them to feel more ‘authentic’ should get them printed on card at their local office supply store.
