When we go through a magazine or browse Instagram, we often see perfect photos of celebrities with glossy, shiny hair, dewy, clear complexions, and perfectly contoured faces. Ordinary women might feel intimidated by seeing such beauty.
29-year-old, Vadim Andreev, a makeup artist from Russia, reveals his secrets for creating those supermodel looks. He shows how every woman can get these looks.
From the age of 16, Vadim has been in the business of doing makeup. The artist from St. Petersburg has worked with celebrities. He’s done makeup on various Russian television shows; he’s worked on Russian stars, models, and pop stars.
The make-up artist never restrict his clients to the rich and famous. He works with every-day women, giving them cover girl looks for special occasions. He also helps men who want more of a gothic or punk look or maybe just clearer skin.
‘It was my hobby. I loved to transform people ever since I was I, child,’ he tells MailOnline.
‘When I grew up I decided to go into professional make-up and hair styling.’
To prove that any woman can be transformed, Vadim started taking before and after photos, strictly to show how a face is altered. He mission is to show women they don’t need to resort to surgical procedures to change their looks from plain to beauty queen. It just takes the careful application of makeup product.
‘I started taking these photos to show people they can change, be more attractive, look and feel happier,’ he says.
He said that to transform yourself into a cover girl, all women need to know is how to use cosmetics the right way. He enhances a woman’s face and covers up blemishes. Vadim advises using under eye concealer, blush on the cheek, and highlighter on cheekbones.
‘[The photos] don’t mean women should do heavy make-up all the time. There are little make-up secrets for every day. Everybody can use them,’ he says.
He passed along his makeup tips on his website, vadimandreev.com. He also offers workshops, masterclasses, and how-to videos.
Here are more of his secrets: ‘My secret is in the eye, I guess. I can see the beauty of each person and show it to everybody.
‘My top tips for the everyday woman are:
Use a light under-eye concealer, cream blush on the top of your cheek, and highlight on cheekbones.
‘Put some bronzer under your cheekbones and along the chin and blend well over the face.
‘I believe that every common girl can become a glamorous celebrity. I want to help everyone to see their own beauty.
‘Put some black mascara on your lashes and apply warm pink lipgloss on lips. This will give you fresh, young look.’
Vadim talked about a makeover he did of a friend: ‘Recently, we did a great makeover for a friend of mine. She lives in a small town and is kind of old-fashioned. She had a terrible fringe which didn’t suit her. I opened her forehead, put in some hair extensions, tweezed her eyebrows, did her make-up – and she obviously became like a celebrity. She was very happy and didn’t remove the make-up for three days.’
He believes beauty is very individual: ‘Make-up is a very personal and individual process. I believe that every common girl can become a glamorous celebrity. I want to help everyone to see their beauty, just sometimes it takes a little bit more time and a bit of a helping hand.’
Vadim has great plans for sharing his beauty tips so that all women might benefit: ‘I have a lot of plans and dreams about my own future in make-up, such as writing a book and have my TV show about makeovers.
‘And, of course, my usual work with lovely brides, giving workshops and masterclasses.’
