A dog owner, Paul Stott, 51, of England, teaching his three-month-old chihuahua mix, Dave, to be trusted off-leash was going swimmingly. One day he and his girlfriend went for a walk on England’s Northumberland Beach and later realized that Dave is missing.
While searching Paul saw the sand. What happened next would have horrified any dog owner.
Most dog owners put their pooches on leashes when they’re outside of their homes. This protects their furry friends from danger, prevents them from getting lost, and trains them to stay in close proximity to their humans.
However, in the right situations, some people feel comfortable letting their dogs off their leashes. When they’re well-trained enough to understand boundaries, this can be a great experience for them as well as their owners.
