Dan Bilzerian, hated by many and loved by many, many more, has recently sparked outrage with a post of a bikini clad woman riding a 100-year-old Galapagos giant tortoise. The incident took place at Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island.
The WWF (World Wildlife Fund) list the animal as ‘vulnerable’ and it’s pretty awkward as Branson’s island is actually part of wildlife conservation efforts.
One person took to Twitter to say: “And the best way to show one’s appreciation for the animal is to stick a skank on it, stay classy”. Yikes.
Another person wrote: “Probably not cool for your friend to sit on its back.”
Hedge fund owner Jamison Ernest directed his criticism at Branson, saying: “I’m very disappointed to see your beautiful protected creatures as zoo rides.”
Bilzerian responded to his criticism, saying: “Get off your soapbox, the people working there said it’s fine to sit on them.”
Well, I guess that’s fine then.
