For long residents in America were threatened by creepy appearances of clown with weapons everywhere. Sometimes these clowns would follow people or chase them bringing fear in everyone’s heart.
Now the problem has died down but the release of the newer version of the hit horror movie “It” is giving people the chills.
The movie ‘IT’ which will be aired on Friday, Pennsylvanian officials are worried about the resurgence of the ‘creepy clown’ phenomenon that swept the globe in 2016, as per a story shared by the Daily Mail.
The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) already released a community bulletin preempting concerns of the possible appearances of the strange-costumed folk popping up this month.
“With the fall of 2017 upon us, it is anticipated that similar “creepy clown” sightings could be reported starting as soon as September,’ the statement said before mentioning the release of IT on Friday as being a possible reasoning,” PSP said.
‘The movie, which is adapted from a Stephen King novel by same name, portrays an evil demon who takes on the shape of a clown named Pennywise, “that stalks kids from within the sewers and killing them when they least expect it.”
Chief Supt Andy Boyd, from Thames Valley Police, said: ‘While we do not want to be accused of stopping people enjoying themselves, we would also ask those same people to think of the impact of their behavior on others and themselves. Their actions can cause fear and anxiety to other people, this could be perceived to be intimidating and threatening which could lead to public order offences, arrest and a criminal record,” as also disclosed in an article by Metro.
He added: ‘In addition, their behavior is causing multiple reports to our call takers and is tying up police resources which could impact on calls to other incidents.’
The Pennsylvania State Police decided that this year, they’re not taking this for granted since the ‘creepy clown’ sightings could be reported to start as soon as September, due to the fact the movie ‘IT’ will be shown on theaters.
Clown sightings made the parents, children and even schools, across the country on heightened alert, as dozen were apprehended because of their participation in the chaos.
