C section is more popular now, it has increased by 60 % in the period between 1996 and 2009. However C- Section is more dangerous than the vaginal births. C Section involves cutting into the abdomen and exposing you to bacteria and it can also lead to excessive bleeding, blood lumps and even death.
It also takes a toll on your body as the recovery takes up to 6 weeks compared to just one or two weeks in vaginal birth.
The reason for increase in C-Section deliveries is convenience to both the mother and the doctor. Another reason is giving birth to second child vaginally is riskier when a woman has already had a baby via caesarean.
It is recommended that the first preference should always be vaginal birth as it is not prone to bacterial infection and also requires less time to recover.
