Cruel! Mother Ties Own Son to a Staircase after His Father Failed to pay £114 child Support Payment

Parenting is tough and doing it as a single parent is even harder! But this single mother gained ire from the public after tying her son to a staircase because his father failed to give support payment.

Apparently, the couple divorced in the first half of 2016. Their younger son was left with the father, while they agreed to let the older son live with the woman. However, since July, the father requested his ex-wife to look after their younger son for one semester on the condition that he would pay her 2,000 yuan (£229) for child support every month.

However, the man missed to pay half of the agreed amount, and the woman decided to threaten him with an act of cruelty that will forever be embedded in their child’s mind. Though the father had given 5,700 yuan (£653) to his ex-wife to cover the tuition fees for their elder son, he missed half of the agreed child support of one month for the younger child.

In a fit of rage, the woman decided to tie up their younger son to the staircase of the building she lives in and took the pictures. The father couldn’t go home immediately so he sent the pictures to his parents who live in the same city of his ex-wife.

The distraught father was living in a different city some 390 kilometers (242 miles) away, and there was no way of getting to his son immediately. Fortunately, his parents were living in the same city as his ex-wife and rushed to their grandchild after their son sent the distressing pictures to them. His parents spent nearly 20 minutes freeing the boy from the handrails. The child was described to be in a ‘horrified’ and ‘desperate’ state when he was rescued.

The father told a reporter from The Paper on November 8 that he and his wife were in discussion regarding the child support payment. He refused to give more details. The father reportedly paid a total amount of 13,200 yuan (£1,512) to his ex-wife in August, September, and October.
