Ayr United will be sponsored for another year by an online betting company Bodog. They have gone for another approach with next season’s kit launch.
Last season’s topless campaign landed the Scottish side in trouble, but it has not discouraged them from coming back again this time out and unveiling strip in an exceptionally similar fashion.
The Ayr board decided that brand and advertising continuity is dynamic and have gone ahead once more, hoping to spur the players on next year.
‘After the controversy of last year’s kit launch we felt we should change our strategy,’ explained Calvin Ayre, founder of Bodog.
‘So this year we are using a body-painted model in the away strip rather than the home one.
‘We hope the pictures will give The Honest Men the boost they need for promotion and a good Cup run too. ‘Mon Ayr!’
Ayr United Football Club added: ‘It’s a big season for the club and its great to have Bodog on board again. In the modern era it’s pretty rare to have such a long-term sponsor and there’s aplenty to be positive about the season ahead.’
The club will hope this new kit will help in their promotion push as they look to reclaim their spot in the Scottish Premiership.
Bodog are in their seventh season of sponsoring Ayr and have previously been shirt sponsors of West Brom and a betting partner to Arsenal.
