A new cruise ship from MSC cruises is all set arrive and smash several records. The plans were announced for its new world class ships that will be carrying a maximum of 6850 guests and boasts 2760 cabins.
The 200,000-ton vessels first delivery will likely be in 2022 and will have room for 70 more passengers than the current record holder, Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas.
The World Class’ futuristic ‘Y’ shape structure will enable sweeping panoramic sea views, according to its manufacturers, SFX France, as well as increase the proportion of balcony cabins.
It is also being dubbed as the world’s ‘most modern and technologically advanced cruise ships’, their bows have been designed to further improve stability and hydrodynamics.
The 1080 feet length ship will also have a family friendly ‘villages’, a panoramic aft deck and a glass pool lounge.
The company expects to deliver four such ships between 2022 and 2026. A CGI image of what the ships will look like was unveiled at an event attended by French president Emmanuel Macron and minister of the economy Bruno Le Maire.
The rest of the details were yet to be revealed. Last week also saw President Macron wave MSC’s newest ship off, the Meraviglia – Europe’s biggest cruise ship.
Measuring 1,033 feet long and 213 feet tall the enormous boat – which cost an estimated $1billion (€892million) to build – has room for 5,714 passengers over its 19 decks.
